Vivek Patwardhan is a well known and much admired thought leader, writer and speaker in India in the area of HR and IR, an award winning blogger (IndiBloggers in 2013 and again in 2017), Ex Rotary President and a Trustee of an NGO called Aroehan which aims at the holistic development of tribal communities through an integrated approach to health, education, livelihood and effective governance.
He served as an Independent Director on the board of MSL Driveline Systems Ltd for four years. He represents the Employers Federation of India on the Government of India’s Central Advisory Board for Minimum Wages.
In 2006, he was appointed as the ‘TISCO Chair Professor of Industrial Relations’ at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He has also edited a book on Industrial Relations and published several articles on HR issues and travelogues. He has been felicitated by his Alma Mater for his contribution to the field of Industrial Relations and recently also conferred with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Vivek is a science Graduate from Mumbai University and a Masters in Labour Welfare from Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies. He has studied HR and IR practices in several countries and attended training programs at the London Business School on Strategic HRM.
He was also sponsored by The Employers’ Federation of India to participate in the program on Mainstreaming Gender Equality at ILO in Turin, Italy.
Vivek has deep interest in photography, sketching, travelling, blogging, art and literature.
